Main Project Features: The main objectives are achieving routine immunization by incorporating adult vaccination and emerging disease preventive measures while ensuring equity to strengthen Asian health systems.

Activities Performed:

  • Analysis of the current situation addressing barriers to vaccine uptake, especially among the hidden population (women, indigenous) and vulnerable groups.
  • Advocate with local government to develop joint operational plans to target equitable vaccine access.
  • Strengthen the health system in the region and establish an experimentation hub to further innovate for health equity.

Main Project Features: The main objectives were a) to review the implementation of community-based monitoring to inform service redesign and use findings to inform KVP service delivery, b) to review the feedback mechanisms to reduce stigma and discrimination in health care settings in six countries (focusing on Malaysia).

Activities Performed: Provided a report on the Performance Framework.

Main Project Features & Activities Performed:

  • Facilitate a 2-day meeting with key population representatives and women-based community groups from different constituencies to provide them with knowledge on Global Fund processes, with particular attention to the country dialogue and funding request development processes.
  • Conduct and document specific in-depth interviews/focus groups with key population groups to help them define the priority actions that must be shared with the writing team.
  • Based on the specific interviews/focus groups, support APLHIV in working with KVP leaders to prioritize key interventions and a strategy for implementation in a final multi-level, multi-KVP engagement plan to inform the funding request development.
  • Facilitate a validation meeting with the relevant stakeholders to ensure that the information captured in the engagement plan is accurate and responds to the needs of civil society and community groups

Main Project Features:

  • Enhancing health linkages between marginalized/KVP primarily by promoting uptake of STI-friendly & HIV clinic services enabled by the Ministry of Health Malaysia.
  • Enhance the capacity of primary health care providers and NGOs on a converged service delivery model for the targeted populations.
  • Enhance capacity on program management skills and M&E processes for partners who will be promoting treatment uptake.

Activities Performed: Assess and manage stakeholder engagement, provide training, and facilitate the processes of operational guidelines.

Main Project Features: The primary objective was to update KHANA’s. Gender Strategy and Assess Gender Integration in KHANA’s Harm Reduction Program.

Activities Performed: Applied triangulation on secondary data analysis and developed strategic, operational approaches in aligning gender sensitivity on harm reduction interventions.

Main Project Features: The assignment’s primary goal is to ensure an integrated approach to M&E is adopted into the national Health Management Information System.

Activities Performed: The project stretched over three months to ensure knowledge transfer through capacity-building activities to sustain the quality of M&E processes.

Main Project Features & Activities Performed: Provided technical expertise on a project sponsored by AusAID to work with MOH Viet Nam on applying evidence-based public health interventions for PWUD within incarcerated and community settings in most geographically, economically, and socially challenged areas Bac Can, Ho Binh and Tuyen Quang.

Main Project Features: As the Harm Reduction program’s technical adviser to the government of Malaysia, I streamlined the government’s strategy for applying harm reduction programs at the national level.

Activities Performed: Applied a Rapid Assessment Response (RAR) methodology to assess the impact of HIV and HCV co-infection among people who use drugs in Kuantan and Pahang, Malaysia.

Main Project Features & Activities Performed: Managed a team of experts contracted through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) to review the effectiveness of harm reduction programs in Manipur and Nagaland, India.
